NOTICE. HEARING ON APPLICATIONS FOR JUDICIAL APPOINTMENT
The Statewide Nominating Commission for the Judges of Compensation Claims will meet on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. EDT at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes, 4040 Central Florida Parkway, Orlando, Florida 32837 (room TBA), to interview applicants to serve as a Judge of Compensation Claims. The Commission will nominate three individuals (two for Orlando and one for West Palm Beach) and submit those names to Governor DeSantis for consideration. The annual salary is $160,000.
Applications shall be submitted to Laura Dane, 1230 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-3060 or Laura.Dane@doah.state.fl.us by Friday, April 22, 2022 by hard copy or flash drive (with PDF copies) by mail delivery, or electronic in PDF format by email. Each applicant must submit a non-redacted copy and a redacted copy*.
Applicant’s names will be published (http://e-jccupgrade.blogspot.com/) on Monday, April 25, 2022. If you wish to speak at the Commission meeting to oppose any applicant, please provide written notice to Laura.Dane@doah.state.fl.us by Thursday, April 28, 2022. The Commission will accept letters in support of any applicant if they are delivered to Laura.Dane@doah.state.fl.us by Thursday, April 28, 2022.
The Commission will meet telephonically, Monday May 2, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. EDT to discuss any procedural issues prior to the in-person Monday, May 9, 2022 meeting. This commission meeting by phone is open to the public by dialing 888.585.9008, and entering code number 510 432 870#.
